Once model created its been rotated 90 degrees
« on: November 25, 2024, 11:06:35 PM »
Hi There,
Working on a large imported point cloud from LiDAR, i have been able to classify it but my issue is when created a model of the ground, its now rotated 90 degrees?? Id say a bug but need a fix, file is massive also 108 million faces.
Thanks
Allan

Your file is probably Y up instead of Z up.

Not the case, I built a DEM with the same point cloud classified model and processed perfectly, I then used the DEM to create the model. I think its a Bug.....

Can you please double check as its sounds like Y and Z are missed.

Hello Allan,

If you are using only imported point cloud (without any aerial images), can you please comment on the following points:
- what coordinate system has been selected on point cloud import?
- what coordinate system is selected in the Reference pane settings dialog for the chunk before building the model,
- what is the system (if specified in the Show Info dialog for the generated mesh model) after building the model from the point cloud,
- does the issue actually depends on the classification, or if you observe it even when the model is generated from the import point cloud right away?

Also specify Metashape Pro version that you are using.
Best regards,
