Hi,

My main use for Metashape is quantification of stockpiles around our industrial works. From time to time I have to use a custom level for the volume calc. I get this level by inspecting the profile graph - usually for an average of a region of the graph.
Recent releases fiddled with the vertical scale of the profile view and I do not get the detailed view of the profile that earlier versions delivered:
The attached image shows a stockpile profile - it is on a flatish concrete slab although the vertical scale bar shows a range from 1170m to 1270m. Zooming and moving around does not deliver a better detailed view.
How can I get this profile view to use the span from minimum to maximum elevation as the scale range?

Thanks for any help.

Hello antoniekruger,

If you hold CTRL key and use mouse-wheel to zoom in/out in measure profile dialog, it will apply the modification of the scale only along Y axis, so you can find the lowest point visually using such Y-exaggerated view.

But in what older version you had the profile measurement display in more convenient mode?

Hello antoniekruger,

OK, we'll see, if we can make this dialog more convenient. For now I think you can get the result similar to 1.8 by moving the cursor in the profile measure tab to the center cell intersection and then using CTRL + mouse wheel a few times.

Again, thank you - for me this is a fantastic tool. I measure around 2000 stockpiles at 5+ facilities per cycle - I use multiple tools to derive my reports. If a stockpile is bunkered around 3(*) sides, it is neccesary to take very good look at the toe line "average ground line" around the material - I will use a small section of the profile, but I need to see in detail what it is, not a huge scale, scrolling for an answer takes time. The new vertical scale line hides the  detailed toe line(profile). Here is an example of a bunkered stockpile, again - it is on a slab and the vertical scale is from 1165 to 1190. I calc many of these per cycle and would prefer to have the relevent scale on request instead of scrolling for a best fit. Max to min of the toe line.

Thank you. I would like to make another request. It will save me time in the bulk processing. I'm not sure how much effort it woul be and it will eliminate occasional typos in the tranfer of the elevation from the graph to the volume tab.
In the Measure Dialog, on the Volume tab, when selecting the "Custom level" option in the Best Plane drop down and move back to the profile tab. If you double click on the graph the elevation value at the cursor position should populate the Level field in the Volume tab and execute the update button event. This way the possibility of error by manually tranferring the value from the graph is eliminated and it is more efficient.
This will help a lot.

Thank you Alexey - Ver 1.8.4 build 14493

My question is, why are you using 3 year old software? Updates are free.
