model not shown in correct elevation
« on: February 13, 2025, 11:20:21 AM »
Hi all,

I tested with two models by uploading them to the cloud to share with my client, however, I noticed both of the models shows in correct geolocation, but not the correct elevation, they both shows way up high from the ground.

what could be the problem, they are both geo referenced with GCP and I choose the correct coordinate reference system.

please advise.

Hi again,

you have a valid point, I did not know what GeoID were before your reply.
basically I did brief research and found the file for the required place, however, it is only in .geo foramt. not .tiff file.
any advise?

Hello majou,

if you can share the geo file, maybe we could help in crating the corresponding geoid file...

Hello majou,

it seems the geo file is from a proprietary software. However it seems that this geoid was extracted from world geoid EGM2008 available from Agisoft downloads https://www.agisoft.com/downloads/geoids/. You can download and install in your geoids folder according to instructions in above page.

And build your model with CS having egm2008 geoid before uploading  ... should work

EGM2008 2.5' geoid model
WGS 84 (EPSG::4326) to EGM2008 height (EPSG::3855)
EGM2008 1' geoid model
WGS 84 (EPSG::4326) to EGM2008 height (EPSG::3855)

Hello majou,

can you give more details on the area you are working on and its coordinate System (CS).and create your model withis CS...

Then we can create a compound Coordinate system including geoid....
