DJI M3E RTK - Camera calibration and dewarp
« on: March 15, 2024, 05:00:47 PM »
Hi all,

I'm currently using the DJI M3E RTK to process aerial imagery and I have a few questions.

Firstly, I see some vignetting on the image.  After checking the parameters, I conclude that it's coming from desactivate dewarp. If I understand correctly, this means that the images are unprocessed and not deformed. When I activate dewarp, the images are corrected and there is no more vignetting. After reading some documentation, I've come to the conclusion that it's correct to deactivate the dewarp, and that it's normal to have vignetting on the images. Can anyone confirm this?

And my second question is about the camera calibration model you choose on agisoft. When I read the tutorial on the agisoft website, I had to use the brown model for the camera calibration. But wouldn't it be better to use the fisheye camera calibration model?

Thanks in advance for your reply!

Hello jerm,

maybe have a look at https://agisoft.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/31000161735-dji-with-rtk-coordinates-data-processing. Should give you a good starting point for processing DJI M3E RTK...

This doesn't really answer the questions. Are there any recommendations for flight parameters as well as for agisoft parameter settings explicitely for DJI m3e images?
What about dewarp (enable or disable in the DJI settings? If so, why?)?
Would be nice to have more information for this drone model!

I couldn't find anything about it, the freshdesk is indeed a good starting point but very shallow I have to say.

Cheers
