Prescription Mapping/Application features
« on: May 29, 2025, 03:00:47 PM »
Hi,

Would like to see some enhancements to the feature set around the development of prescription maps. In particular, using the prescription feature to create and output maps suitable for use with both ground and UAV based spray applicators. Yes, it can be done now, but I have tried it and struggled to get it working on a ground rig as the map was too complex, as you need to make the grid size so small to identify even medium size weeds (10 cm or larger). (Am talking 100 ha size fields or larger)

Currently you need select the average ndvi/ndre/etc value within a nominated grid size, which would trigger an application to occur. This is challenging when targeting smaller scattered weeds (less than 5 cm in diameter), as typically these type of plants won’t significantly increase the mean indice value over an area of 1 metre square or larger in isolation.

Instead, just simple mask and or algorithm which said that if an individual square of a grid contained a number or % of pixels which had an indices value or higher (which you could nominate), product will be applied/not applied. This simple feature would greatly improve the accuracy and useability of the prescription selection tool without needing to export GCP corrected imagery to another software package.

Interested in your thoughts..
