Beta testing of refine roof edges feature for orthomosaic
« on: June 18, 2025, 04:50:06 PM »
Hello everyone!

Soon we are planning to release version 2.2.2 that would include the additional parameter in Build Orthomosaic dialog that allows to visually improve areas near the edges of roofs ("wavy" effect artifacts, white areas, etc.) on the DEM-based orthomosaic.
Currently the feature can be added to GUI by creating main/enable_refine_roof_edges tweak and setting its value to True.

Additional information on the feature can be found in the following article:
https://agisoft.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/31000173952-new-features-in-agisoft-metashape-2-2-x#An-experimental-feature-to-improve-the-area-near-the-edges-of-the-roofs

We appreciate any feedback in this thread on the new experimental feature (related to processing speed, quality of the results, etc.) applied to the project where the regular orthomosaic generation approach is giving unwanted artifacts near the roof edges.
