Hi Alexey,

tried the texturing on another computer with NVDIA RTX 3050 but also got error Not enough VRAM and proper Vulkan support. Same 88 image 60 Mpix dataset...

Hello Paul,

Please try to reduce the texture page size to 4096, for example - it should also reduce the VRAM requirements in the current pre-release version.

just want to let you know, with 4096 it works for me

New texturing and photo assignment editing worked very well for me on this dataset – https://skfb.ly/pzMUH :)

There were a lot of tourists (see attached photo example), so using "Assign Images" and then rebuilding the texture with "Use assigned images" helped a lot.

I retried doing the texture on a 400 + 20 Mpix image data set but with 2048 texture size and it works. However it does send an error message: Assertion "Vulkan kernel detected error on GPU with code=821111020 at kernel line=44" failed at line 2179
However If I click retry, it completes the texture.

However with out_of_focus-filter on, I get error: Assertion "9045260266" failed at line 723 and process does not complete,

I see Intel(R) Raptor Lake-S Mobile Graphics Controller in your log. This is an integrated GPU, which can be unstable and is relatively slow. You can try disabling it under Tools > Preferences > GPU.

Probably it’s a bug. If you can send the project (or a small part of it that still fails with this error) to support@agisoft.com, they can look into it.

Hi Alexey,
Can we have a list of the useful TWEAKS, please?

Best regards,

Can this new way of texturing have an option to "prioritise the closest images"? It would help a lot with colours and details in underwater photoogrammetry.

Hello Mariusz,

Have you checked the new texturing option for the underwater datasets already? We had better results compared to the older texturing method for large reef sites.

Also we have updated 2.2.2 pre-release today.

I am waiting fot the release version. I am actually one version behind (2.1.4), because 2.2.1 has too many bugs that affect my underwater models. But reading the bug reports I am sure most of them will be fixed in 2.2.2, so I will install the release version and test it then.

found a Texturing-Problem with the new Version (same in 2.2.1 and 2.2.2)
mosaic = ok
natural = better quality but some holes in the texture

Hello ferengi,

Is it latest 2.2.2 version that you are using?

Would it be possible to share the project with the model for the problematic area and related images, so that we could try to reproduce the problem on our side and fix it? If so, please send the download link to support@agisoft.com.

Hi Alexey,

First, congrats on such a cool feature. I ran some test sets and getting very impressive results so far.

I am trying to find the things you mention here though and cannot find them "Model - Assigned Camera view for analysis: After the texture is built, you can inspect which parts of the model texture were taken from which photos. Use the dropdown next to the model view button (same location as Confidence and Shaded) and select Model - Assigned Camera."

This one is not on my dropdown. Is there a separate tweak to enable this?

Also, re: "Open Assigned Image for texture inspection: Right-click on any surface point on the model and select Open Assigned Image to view the specific image used for that location."

Whenever I do this, I get "no image found"

Finally, just an out of interest... does it work in a similar way to the depth of field masking or is it doing specific sharpness detection? Just interested as it really really worked well on getting rid of some out of focus areas for me.

Anyway, thanks again for such and amazing improvement.

Michael

actually, I worked out the bug.
When you first add the tweak and apply, the "Model - Assigned Camera" option is not added to the dropdown.
It is, however, there once the program is restarted.

And I worked out the second one on my own. A case of PEBCAK.
