Running really slow on MacOS 26 beta 8

Last week I installed MacOS 26 beta 8 on my MacBook Pro M1 Max, and today I ran Metashape 2.2.1 on it for the first time.  It's going *really* slowly.  The logs all look normal - it appears it's using the GPU's, but the speed that it's processing even just the Matching points is easily 10x slower than normal.

Well, after few attempts suddenly it started working again at normal speed.  I'm not sure what was going on those first 2 attempts.  Maybe just a MacOS beta glitch or something?
