Does pre-calibrating cameras decrease processing time?
« on: October 22, 2025, 05:01:39 PM »
Details:
1764 images (9 mpx)
Accuracy: High
KP Limit: 40000
TP Limit: 4000
Matching time: 11h19m

That seems like a long processing time for that number of images. I used a Nikon D800 with 14mm and 50mm prime lenses. Would pre-calibrating the cameras shorten processing time?
There's no camera position in the EXIF. I was considering trying a Geotagger. There are a few available for Nikons.

Hello JonLoder,

In general case using precalibrated values may slightly reduce the time of camera alignment process, providing that all calibration parameters are fixed.

But precalibration does not have any effect on the key points detection and image matching time.
