Change Image *File* names after alignment?
« on: July 06, 2026, 02:12:41 PM »
Hello,
similar to this topic - "Change Images Names...https://www.agisoft.com/forum/index.php?topic=5369.0 - but, after alignment already performed, I would like not only to rename Cameras in Photo Pane, but also to rename the image files themselves.
To be specific - not only to rename a selection of Cameras, such as DJI_0256, DJI_0257,... to DJI_4256, DJI_4257,...
but also to rename the corresponding Image files accordingly, it means ...[foldername]/DJI_0256.jpg to [foldername]/DJI_4256.jpg etc.

Is it please even possible, and if so, is it possible without loosing masks and points already attached to the images?

Any advice from you Metashape Gurus ;) would be greatly appreciated!

The use case is obvious - a large project with images gradually added over time, and - even while in different folders, their names were occasionally the same so in Photo Pane they appeared next to each other.
It was realized too late and would be great to "restore the order"... :)

Not a solution, but maybe a temporary workaround/tip, you can sort the photos pane by 'Date & Time' column, which would be better than by 'Label' in this case.

You can also create image groups which appear like folders for images in the workspace pane, which also helps keep things organised.
