Thank you.
But Meshlab can't load the texture file when using an andriod phone. Can any other software do the job?

There are several android apps that can do this. All suffer from very limited object size so you would probably need to reduce the size of your models quite a bit.

Simlab has a android viewer which uses their own format, although you can import an OBJ into their software and convert it.

Using file formats that are binary (like Simlab's native format) might be a better option because OBJ format is text and produces larger files.

Meshlab for IOS support textures, we wish Android version could do this soon.

What's New in Version 1.1

- Textures support!!!
- Zip file support (recommended for textured meshes)
- OpenCTM file support (compact model format)
- Rendering engine optimizations
- Support for iOS 6
- Support for retina iPad and iPhone 5
- Stability improvements and bug fixes

Thank you very much.

I have imported an .obj file into the simlab 3d pdf edition and exported  a .zim file.

But the .zim file failed to show in the simlab cad viewer installed in my android phone (firmware version  4.0.4).

Is there anything I am doing wrong? Or is it because of the output file type in the first step is simlab ipad file (.zim)?

Thank you all again.

I just checked this in Simlab (Windows) on my system, and the only option for .ZIM file export says ipad. The .ZIM file is cross platform, so they probably should fix the export dialog box and get rid of "ipad" because it is confusing.

You should be able to IMPORT the .ZIM back into Simlab to test it. If this works, it could be the file is corrupted somehow on your phone. It could also be the file is just too large to be opened using the memory and processor on the phone.

How many polys are in the file, and how big are the textures (if any)?

Thank you again.

My .zim file works when imported back into simlab.

The exported .zim file is about 3.94 MB, the .obj model has 100,000 ploys, and the texture is 463 KB.

It is possible that it is still too large for the resources on your phone. You probably already tried exiting all other applications and clearing any memory that might be cached, but I will mention it just in case.

Try reducing it to 25,000 polys and see what happens?

Thank you for your sincere help and I'm quite sorry for my delayed reply.

It works when I installed the Simlab CAD Viewer3.0.

Thank you again. :)
