Which one?

Currently I'm on the latest (v1 build 1795).

Are the previous versions available on this website? I haven't looked yet, but I guess they must be.

Unsetting colour correction makes no difference - it still takes a long time...

I installed 0.9 and, after much messing around to export everything from 1.0 and import it back into the older version, it works very well. Only 10 to 15 minutes to generate the textures.

Please fix this in 1.0 when you get a chance - it's obviously a bug.

I also got this problem (stuck at 70% during texture phase). It was stuck for 8 hours, before I cancelled it, but it got to 70% in minutes. Same mesh was used with the previous build of PS, and texturing worked fine (took 10 minutes or so). Next time it happens I will save the logs / screenshots.

300,000 faces in my case.

Further to this:

Using the same data, I generated a dense point cloud at medium quality and then a 500,000 face model (the previous dense cloud was generated on high and then the model with 300,000 faces).

This time it textured in very little time - instead of leaping up to 70% in 30 seconds and sticking there, it took a couple of minutes to get to 70 and then continued on past the parameterisation and on to the blending stage.

As someone else noted, it appears to be related to how the quality of the dense point cloud is set. Anything above Medium and texture generation grinds to a halt at 70%.

Hello all,

We are woring on this problem now and are planning to release the update with the fix in the end of January.

In the current version due to higher geometry sharpness the texture atlas has several times higher number of texture charts (compared to the version 0.9.1), thus resulting in the lower texture quality or even in very long processing time with completely unacceptable result (>25000 texture charts).

Currently we can only recommend to use older release for texturing or apply smothing to the model and/or import manually created UV map.

Brilliant.

BTW, the new texturing is a lot better than in the old versions. I found quite a few problems with 0.9's texturing and I've gone back to 1.0 which produces a lovely result. I can live with medium resolution models and lower texture detail for now. I look forward to the fix!

Where can one download this version? Currently you can only get the 1795 version from agisoft.ru. And how can I get hold of an older version?

Hello all,

We have released the updated version.

Please check if the texture generation result is fine now. However, please note that you need to rebuild mesh in the new release prior to the texture generation. Old dense cloud can be used for the mesh generation.

I have a rather large dense point cloud and made a mesh with the latest version. When generating texture I get the 70% freeze again! Any ideas of how to overcome or what the limits in number of points/faces are?

Me too! Freeze at 85% done during "blending textures." App starts behaving weirdly -- it is making itself full screen and then windowed every few seconds!? It will just sit here for hours with no cpu use. Come on guys, fix this bug, it's been months!

Hello foobarbecue,

The original issue discussed in this thread has been fixed three years ago.

If you have any similar problem, please specify the following:
- PhotoScan version you are using,
- hardware specifications (CPU, GPU, RAM, OS version),
- project details: number and resolution of images, face count of the mesh,
- processing settings used for the texture generation stage,
- full processing log related to the operation (you can redirect it to file using corresonding option in the Preferences window and re-start the operation, if the problem can be easily reproduced).
