Align photo matching
« on: January 17, 2014, 06:00:31 PM »
Hi all,

I was just wondering if anybody knew how the matching in Align Photos is carried out and how the process matches pixels between images?

I was also wondering if anybody knew what the white coloured points actually mean when you view images with points? I understand that they are unused points but how does Photoscan determine to not use these points? Are these points that it has tried to match and failed?

Thanks,
Andrew

Hello Andrew,

The colors of the points in Photos view mode is explained in another topic:

White points are unused matches that were either filtered as invalid or deleted by user in Sparse Cloud view mode. You can view all matches between any pair of image using View Matches command (just right click on any photo in the Photos pane and choose corresponding option from the context menu).
