stability problems release 1.0.4 build 1847
« on: May 13, 2014, 11:15:25 AM »
hello
just the other day i was saying to myself wow what a stable program PS is i did have like 5-6 hard crashes with it in about a year of nearly daily use and then came 1847.....
i had about 15 total ctd since that mostly with minor stuff like pressing the button to import gcp or right click and then select change image path so nothing high intensity workstuff just everyday things in the normal workflow the import gcp gives me a ctd in about 25% of all cases...
since my files are large i dont want to save every 10 minutes because it takes 10 minutes to save and due to my own failure i already lost a whole week of work with a file which dstroyed itself in a ctd with exactly that
it was a 8gb file then i had a ctd and it was 10mb and could not be opened anymore.
righ now i again lost work worth an hour and i wonder i someone else noticed the same stuff...
iam always sending  the report to agisoft and hope this helps to solove the stability problems realy fast....
yours frank

Hi Frank, for the AGI stability - its not 100% but im can say im 99.98 % up. the PC crashing its related to hw and sw setup. can put here a detailed HW setup of your PC and version of Windows ?

We have here 2 PC absolutely same config, but one PC is crashing, say 2-3x per week..... the other is rock solid.....

i was using this pc before the update and it worked nicely so i still think it might be related to that since i was not changing anything in the HW
the pc runs a quadro K4000/PCIe/SSE2 graphics
procesor is a intell xeon E5-2637 3.5GHz (2 processors)
memory installed is 64gb
win 7 64bit

thanks

hmm go to the CONTROL PANEL-ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS-EVENT VIEWER.  see there for WINDOWS LOGS   and there for SYSTEM, there should be system event. if have problem to find it or etc  PM me... will help you.... Mostly the hw or sw is the main problem. for say 2,5 year i got just 2-3 restarts with AGI....

Hello Frank,

Have you submitted the crash reports using crash reporter tool? If not, could you please do so and sign the report, so that we can easily identify it and check the problem.

Also please check RAM modules using Memtest86 utility, just for case.

Hello Frank,

Unfortunately, we can't find the crash report from you. In case you can reproduce the crash and submit the report once again, we'll appreciate it.

Unless we are mistaken, we've found the crash report and it seems that crashes are caused by the graphic card drivers, so we recommend to use latest drivers available for the graphic card.
