Lens Question
« on: May 09, 2014, 04:00:48 AM »
I'm using a Nikon D5300 and debating on the best lens to use. I hear some say the Nikkor 35mm f1.8 DX and some say the Nikkor 50mm f1.8 DX. Which is a better choice for single camera head scanning or is there a better option.

I'm using the same camera and having OK results with the kit lens. If you want good quality, I will definitely go with the 35mm f1.8. But then if you are only doing head scans, 50mm might be a better length. How many camera setup are you thinking?

If that's the case, go with the 35mm f1.8. The kit lense is pretty soft. Even with a prime lense, I advice small amount of sharpening in photoshop or lightroom. Makes a hell of a difference.
