Texture to Vertex Color

I'd like to be able to generate Models with Vertex colors inbeded in them.

Just export model in PLY format and let me know if it is what you need...

The PLY export does not work. I'd like to be able to convert high resolution texture to vertex color.. a hackish pTex I guess.
