Alignment slows down exponentially with number of photos
« on: May 29, 2014, 05:47:32 PM »
Hi,

Right now I'm processing 2807 photo's.  It's been running for nine hours and thirty five minutes with an estimated one hundred and sixteen hours and forty five minutes to go for alignment alone.

The images are extracted from a video with many clear features high contrast values and colors and high overlap - it should be an easy alignment.

Running projects with fewer photo's ~1200 only takes about eight hours.

I am running on a MacBook Retina with 16gb of ram.

Any ideas of what could be the cause?

Cause is that any commercial acccesible solution have this "problem", its because you need "compare" search for match every photo with other 2807 photos..... try select in aligment settings the PAIR  PRESELECTION to GENERIC.... and report back.....

What sort of dfataset it is ?? its aerial-GIS or ? because this settings work best for GIS...
