Pair Preselection
« on: May 30, 2014, 08:37:08 PM »
I've searched the forum on pair preselections in align photos and I found answer to what the differences are between using generic vs disabled. But what I couldnt find any information about is, are there any difference between the two in quality of pointcloud and eventually in the mesh?

It depends on your photos/project type,  but we noticed no different in quality of the Dense Cloud. I'm saying this under the assumption that the alignment of your projects are of high quality.

In the rare cases that photos don't align it can help if you turn Pair Selection off (so that it matches points in each photo to every other photo) . Matching time will go through the roof however, and the fact that some photos don't align generally means there are issues with the photos (blur, or not enough overlap).
