PC reboots during processing, SSD culprit?
« on: July 17, 2014, 01:18:49 PM »
Hi,

I'm working on UAV imagery processing using PhotoScan 1.0.4 x64 on a semi heavy duty workstation in our office. Somehow it often crashes (i.e. immediate restart, no BSOD, no memdump, no crash report) while building the dense point cloud, mainly during or shortly after the photo loading. We have already sent the machine to the retailer and he has found some faulty RAM. However, it still crashes.

It has a large, fast and expensive SSD. Do you guys have experience with crashes on (fast) SSDs?

Hello Philip,

If the processing has already started, SSD should not be used anymore till the final stages.

Are you using OpenCL? I recommend to disable all OpenCL devices and re-start the processing to check if it could be an issue. Also please enable the log file in the Preferences and send it to us if the problem still exists.
