What's wrong in this model?
« on: July 24, 2014, 11:21:41 PM »
Hi boys.
I have created a 3d model in a dense point cloud (medium qual) but when the program creates the mesh (high quality) this happens:

What settings are you using for Build Mesh?
- Surface type?
- Source data?
- Interpolation? (under Advanced)

Try:
Surface type:  Arbitrary
Source data:  Dense cloud
Interpolation:  Enabled

My guess is you have good data on the outside, and not so good data on the inside, and it is joining the inside to the outside in the wrong places and not knowing what to do in between.

I would try to model the exterior separately from the interior.

Try a set of photos with the interior masked out and see if the exterior is generated correctly then.

see this model. Is the same but in low quality mesh from normal cloud

nothing problem in this case... :(

Probably at low setting, the few points on the inside of the 'front' side are not enough to affect the meshing algorithm, so only the outside of the front is meshed, and the inside of the rear (since the outside of the rear is obstructed by the wall behind).

I think the problem is trying to mesh both sides of a very thin shell. In the sketchfab version the software has not attempted to mesh both sides, whereas in the jpgs it had attempted to, and failed.

it always happen when you capture both side of a thin object and the point cloud is not dense enough comparing with the thickness. In your case, can you delete the points inside so the mesh can fill up the volume inside? :)

Boys, I have tested to make 2 diferent chunks. One is the general and the other is the site where I have the problem.
Now it's all right:

But when I try to make the texture occurs this:
