Hi i need to no if Canon EF 28-135mm work in scanning Face or body

I have Canon EOS 600D with Lens EF 28-135mm and i need to no if the lens works with scanning Face or body if no than what lens i have to buy

a fixed lens might be better.. I use a 35 mm.. cannot complain.. sharp images

Gabriel, are you talking of one camera with the lense, or a multi-camera rig ? 28 mm can probably work but ou will definitely have better results with something like what Foodman suggests.

if you already have the 28-135 there is no need to buy the prime 35mm for your tests, as you are anyway going to use a small aperture (f8-f11) to maximize depth of field. The sharpness advantage of primes diminishes as you close down the aperture. A prime also has less distortions which would lead to a better reconstruction but what you have is a good start

You'll just have to make sure you dont change focal lengths between shots.
 
Also considering the 1.6 crop factor you could also use the lower end of your zoom range (easier to check that you have a fixed focal lenghth for all shots for uniformity), as 28x1.6=~45mm
