hi,

I need to build a orthoprojection on cylinder of a model of a tower. the goal would be get somehow
a orthophoto of cylindrical projection. does anyone knows how to do it ?
could be a new feature too :-)

Hello sjupin,

You can export model, create corresponding UV map for it in the external application and import it back to PhotoScan. Then generate a texture using Keep UV option.

Blender allows you to unwrap to a cylindrical projection.

I didn't find it completely intuitive, but tweaked enough options that it worked eventually (a while back - i dont remember how to do it now)

You can do it in meshlab or in cloudcompare, i normal use meshalb.

Move the middle of the mesh to coords. 0,0,0
then use filters/smoothing......./geometric cylindrial unwrapping
input a radius to unwrap

ready :)
