Orthophoto from aligned cameras
« on: September 15, 2014, 08:05:15 PM »
Hello,
we are considering an interesting option to add to your orthophotos features, we’d like to know if it would be possible to obtain an orthomosaic (orthophoto from rectified photos) after only the align photos and optimize the alignment. So it would be possible to make orthophotos without dense cloud and mesh generation.
Kind regards,
Diego.
P.S. It also would be useful, especially in large dset, to know how many photos are disabled on a chunk, not only the aligned.

Hello Diego,

You can build mesh based on the sparse cloud to generate the surface quickly. And then export the orthophoto.

Sure this is a way, but in this case ghosting problems related to normals on edges, especially in very articulated scenes are problematic.
There are very cheap softwares capable to rectify and mosaic photos using control points, add such a feature in addition to te generation of a true orthophoto from a model, would be interesting and, sometimes, time saving.

best regards,

Diego.

I agree with Diego ROn. I 'm looking for this solution because it is really the way to go in large projects.

@Diego ROn Can you please list some of these softwares.
