Using scale bar to create an actual scale/ruler on model
« on: November 07, 2014, 06:50:04 AM »
Hello,

I believe the function of the scale bar is to have perfect dimensions of your model...

But I would like to put a scale or ruler on the model, so that when users look at the pdf output, they will know the actual size of the model. And I would like it to remain accurate when they zoom in and out.

I've made it as far as selecting points, inputting the measured distance from the actual object, and creating the scale bar.

Now I want a visual of it somewhere on the model, or maybe next to the 3-D coordinate axes.

I really hope I don't have to retake all these photos with a mini ruler in the image.

Thanks for your help!

hi
2 posibilitys
create a ruler from scratch in blender or similar
or photoscan a ruler scale it and put it in there as a seperate chunk
then you can place it via coordinates acording to the other object
