ortophoto export
« on: December 11, 2011, 12:12:59 AM »
Hello all
is possible to export orthophoto that sumarize some detailed info like pixel - cm ratio or something _ that mean if it can be somehow easy to determine real world sizes of objects - if real size of few details is known ?

Hello Wishgranter,

In PhotoScan it is possible to set up the known reference distance between two points (with markers placed on their locations) of the model or point cloud. In this case if there are no GCP information the local coordinate system would be scaled using the reference distance info.

Is that an answer for your question or you mean something more complicated dedicated for orthophoto tif files processing?

propably more complicated response  ;D

But the question go to this, if set all reference point - can orient and use in proces, then when exporting, could i get detailed info about ratio between pixels/cm ? that mean if need to use it for detailed plans of some buildings - ruins, i can just calculate pixels and then i get the right size - lenght, diameter in real size.....

we test it for use in old ruined castle and making from it construction plans - will upload later this week some examples.......

Hello Wishgranter,

Export orthophoto dialog shows effective resolution by default. It is m/px if the model is in real coordinates and  x/px if it is in local (where x is in the same units like set up by user through reference distance).
