PhotoScan on Linux - ConfigLocation and enabling local install
« on: November 21, 2014, 07:14:09 PM »
When you activate photoscan, it creates a .conf file under "/etc/xdg/Agisoft/PhotoScan Pro.conf" with a line for license=FOO. This requires you to run photoscan once as sudo/root. photoscan doesn't want to seem to look elsewhere to find this file, e.g in the standard paths $HOME/.config

It would be nice if you could install photoscan without the need for privileged access. Could photoscan search the Qt Standard paths (ConfigLocation) for "PhotoScan Pro.conf"? It would be great if you had the option of putting it in $HOME/.config.

This would enable multiple users of the same machine to each use their own licences. Non privileged users would also be able to install the software locally.
