« on: January 15, 2015, 02:07:51 AM »
Hey folks,

I want to make face photoscan, but can you give me tips how to achieve shadowless situation with the lightning? I don't have any light setup so... everything on your mind you're willing to share is welcome! =)

It depends on what kind of light source you own. I you really want flat light, surround the whole set up with translucent silk and use about 8 light umbrellas and light them from all direction. If that is not possible, purchase a cheap strobe or LED light and use softboxes (at least 8) and light it very evenly. But it always helps to have a white wall surrounding the setup. especially floors.

I hear if you hold metal objects in the rain this can become a real problem... ;p

Someone had to do it.  ;p

I've found no harsh lighting to help and hurt.  You need contrasts, but it shouldn't be too drastic.  Just make sure the light doesn't move.  I'd stay soft all around with a slightly brighter key light, myself.
