Origin alignment by point selection
« on: January 31, 2015, 04:50:21 AM »
It would be very helpfull and more precise if photoscan allowed us to orient the model by aligning the origin to a plane made by averaging a set of selected points positions.

Rotate/translate region/model workflow is quite tedious and hard depending on hardware and model complexity.

And similarly/equivalently, it would be really useful to be able to specify the orientation of a scale bar (azimuth, elevation and xyz location of one end) to completely specify the orientation of the model.

Wouldn't specifying local coordinates for the points of the scale bar do this?

I guess so - one could work out relative coordinates based on the orientation.

I was really going on the fact that it is the elevation azimuth and length that are the easy quantities to measure in the field.
