Automatic size?
« on: February 27, 2015, 05:21:09 AM »
Let's say I'm taking a lot of photographs of different size objects to process in photoscan and I want to know the relative size of each model, so that it is scaled realistically. What I'm wanting to do, is print a sheet of paper, with two markers in it that are a fixed distance a part. These markers will have a known coordinates.. so if the  two GCP are 5cm apart, the markers will have coordinates of 0,0 and 0,0.5. I want to be able to automate this, so that every model gets a realistic size but I'm not having to identify GCPs every time and load coordinates and all those steps.

Would this be doable if given enough effort with the python scripting? Is functionality already here but I'm unaware of it?

We are photographing relative flat objects and the size of the reference markers would be comparable to the object size.
Thanks!

If you use coded markers you could import the details for them.  If you use an L-shape you could also define XY axes as well using local coordinates or the markers.
