Are these test results related to processing with Agisoft?

it uses a LOT of common functions - is not clear but as you can see in a lot of benchmarks is slover.....

Well, I would still like to see a real comparison when running photoscan.

Without seeing true tests with direct processing in Agisoft these sorts of comparisons aren't that useful. Perhaps for 3D rendering or games.

And remember the GPU is only useful during the 1st stage of the build.

Much better utilization of GPUs and resources of PC.....

so it seems that it will be better to wait on investments in GPUs, and a lot of sources indicate that 680 line is weak on OpenCL....

Interesting, thanks for Sharing Wishgranter. Fingers crossed something super powerful will be available some time.

Has anyone tried this with a GTX680 yet ?
Is there any benefit to getting a 4gb version 680 over a 2GB 680?
I'm considering buying the Asus GTX680 DirectCU II Top Edition PCI-E 3.0, 2GB 256-bit DDR5
Im still getting long processing speeds after upgrading to a 3.6 and 32gb ram.
Im hoping the 680 may reduce processing time.

I'm also interested. I also wonder if there is an actual advantage of twin GPU cards? SLI? does this do anything? is there any specific setup to improve speed? I'm also interested to know if these are any good, Fusion IO Solid State Flash Memory - http://www.cgchannel.com/2010/05/fusion-io/

SLI is stil problematic as far im know, need to be sigle card. But, im tested a Core i3 2,5 Ghz (dual core-4thread) with Geforce 630M on my test scene and it reconstructed  like my 4x 4Ghz Phenon II with Geforce 560Ti or even faster by few seconds.... will test it deeper, so it seemd that Pscan CAN use the 680 and it will be faster that 580 with a interesant margin...... will ltry to test on some 6xx series GPU

Hello,

First tests on GeForce GTX680 gives us nearly equal PhotoScan performance as for GTX580. We will continue our tests.

Damn, I just ordered a GTX680 but also got GTX580 3GB just in case!!

Alexey does the amount of on board Ram help at all? how about for 4D timeline play back? say 2gb, 3GB or 4GB RAM on GPU?

Hello Lee,

Additional RAM on GPU will give small benefit in overall efficiency as compared to the same GPU with lesser amount of RAM. But it is not supposed to be considerable.
However, all other things being equal GPU with more RAM is recommended.
