Coordinate system for planet Mercury in PhotoScan
« on: May 06, 2015, 02:03:50 AM »
I am trying to use images from NASA's Mercury Messenger Mission to produce DTMs in PhotoScan. I have looked at all of the available datums/EPSG coordinate systems but they all appear to be terrestrial coordinate systems.

Is it possible to important a new coordinate systems into PhotoScan?  Something like: http://spatialreference.org/ref/sr-org/4740/

If it is not possible, is the best choice a local coordinate system that I define independently? Can anyone advise how to best proceed with this option?

hi dellagiu,
you can import the coordinate system as .PRJ file.
The same page provide the coordinate system as .prj

Thank you tutoss!

The only documentation of this I have found is:

Can you recommend more specific steps?
