Can get the orthomosaic expected
« on: May 18, 2015, 08:01:24 PM »
Hi the 2nd of may i performa a photogrammetric survey. The requirement was a orthomosaic with submeter accuracy and 4 cm/pix of GSD.

I perform the mission with a Sony Nex7, 24MP of res with a 16mm pancake lens on a dji s800 evo with a zenmuse z15 gimbal.

Here is the details of the mission: http://arcg.is/1baq9X1

The flight plan was planned and performed manually, the photographs were taken manually with the aid of a real time video feed.

This mission has the particularity that is over a hill, and from the photogrammetric stand point it is a bit demanding mission.

The flight height was 138 m over the take off point. This height at some point was as low as 100 m average, because of the hill that i was surveying.

So, long story short, when i started processing and i get to the point of building the texture, the model doesnt look quate like an orthomosaic. I mean, when you zoom in on to de model there are some very distorted parts. I builded the texture as orthomosaic with mosaic as blending mode without color correction....

This continue to happen when i export the orthomosaic as .TIFF image.

I dont know if i am doing something wrong...

The workflow i followed was the normal one, ie:

.- Align photos
.- Input of the GCP.
.- Build dense cloud
.- Build mesh
.- Build texture.
.- Export orthomosaic

I can attatch the mosaic because of size restriction but if someone ask, i can send it without problem.

I might not be an expert in photogrammetry, however... as some tests have shown on one of my spots disabling the blending mode when building mosaic might give the best results regarding this issue (mismatched alignment of the mosaic).
Anyway, I hope AgiSoft Team will work on improvements in future versions, as lack of stiching edition disqualifies the final product in some cases.
