scan flat wall with no texture, using other technique
« on: June 23, 2015, 12:02:39 PM »
hello

I primarily interested in using the software to scan the room. however, as you would have know, photogrammetry is not great with textureless object.

I have been experimenting with diffraction laser pen (the one that spilled green dot everywhere)

I have found that if the wall directly perpendicular to the light source, thus has maximum reflection, will do better in the scan. other angle of the wall, not so much.

I am considering buying a projector, and project some grid or noise pattern into the wall. (sort of like white light scanning but using Photoscan software)

Is there a better solution than this idea?

Thank you!
