Aligning chunks...again

Hi everyone,

I am very new to agisoft and have trying to work out the kinks with a rendering of a small pot. I split the project into two chunks (top and bottom shots), masked the image sets, aligned the photos and built the dense cloud for each. However, when I go to align the chunks (point based) the alignment is slightly skewed. When I try camera based alignment the chunks do not align at all. When I load all the images into the one chunk a majority of them do not align in batch or when I do them manually. Is there a work around to fix this that I am missing? Help!

Also, I do not have the pro version which is unfortunate.

And is there any reason, why you don't align all the images at once in the single chunk? The only requirement for that is masking all the background on every photo.

I tried that at first. I masked all the photos and aligned them, but only about half of the photos actually align (39 of 90).

Sometimes I get this, and on the ones (often blocks) that don't align, I select a few in the menu on the left and right click and then choose align and then after processing against the existing aligned imagery, they align ok.

This at least works for me half the time. The other half of the time if they don't all align at the start then they never will.


It'd be nice for a 'helper' kind of feature, perhaps overlay the image in the viewport background with some transparency, and then rotate the view so you can guide the software to the rough correct location of the camera for the given image.
