Pix4D Meshmapper App and Photoscan integration
« on: July 13, 2015, 01:19:16 AM »
Hi All,

I've been doing some testing with my DJI Phantom Vision 2+ using the Pix4D Mesh Mapper App for iOS.  The results are really good when I import them in to Pix4d (which would make sense).  My problem is that I dont personally have a PC and can use Pix4d.  Therefore I revert to Photoscan which is MAC compatible.  The problem is that when I align the photos it won't identify the depth, so I just get a flat image.

I'm wondering if anyone else has tried to use Mesh Mapper in conjunction with Photoscan and Procured any decent results?

Thanks,

Sean B

hi looks like your model was just created from the sparse point cloud depth features are very limited there.
try create a dencse cloud first then mesh.frank

Thanks Frank.

This was actually using the Dense cloud feature as well.  The funny thing is that when I initially align the photos they are supposed to at least show some difference in depth.  I've done another test before in a apartment complex where the depth was measured and successfully rendered.  The last two stitchings haven't been as successful.

Thanks Wishgranter,

Can I ask what you mean by 'other numbers'?  Also, when you say alignment preferences, do you mean the window that pops up when you click 'align'?

Hello kingston345,

Could you please provide the screenshots of the Initial and Adjusted tabs of the Camera Calibration window and the processing settings from Chunk Info dialog?
