I have got various results exporting to KMZ:
several renderings stopped at ~450MB .kmz
Another problem I've seen is google earth telling me that the (full path)model.dae  (inside thge .kmz) Error:Could not load file"

Then I succeeded in exporting one at 3.3GB , but google Earth says it's empty.

Likewise, I've seen "not enough memory" when exporting to  geoTIFF,   - yet less than half of the memory were used during the processing before the error, and no swap.

and when exporting OrthoPhoto to jpg , I get just "Can't export orthophoto"
Exporting to tiles (.tls) - works fine.
The area is about 6kmx500m , but reducing it (selecting a smaller region) to much less does not seem to help.

Hello andrekje,

I doubt that GoogleEarth can open model in KMZ larger than 2 GB.

"Can't export orthophoto" problem is usually related to the size of the exported file. Currently in the version 1.1 of PhotoScan Pro the size of GeoTIFF is limited by 4 GB and the resolution of JPG is limited to 65535 x 65535 pixels. For bigger files you need to use split in blocks option.

Thank you for the information.
Size is most likely the issue here.

I did try to limit the exported area using the "Resize region" tool , but it does not seem to help.
Is it so that the "region selection" only affects when building dense pointcloud, not exporting ?

Q1 :So, If I would that tool to work - I'd need to redo the dense pointcloud ? - then export ?

Q2: Second question: jpg being limited 65535 pixels, is an issue here, because the problem areas are *long* ,  (coastline, valleys)
Is there a similar limit to tiff ?

Hello andrekje,

Resize region limits only the point cloud export area. For orthophoto export you can define the rectangular area using Region option in the Export Orthophoto dialog or to crop the reconstructed model / remove unwanted parts of the mesh.

For elongated area export I suggest to use split in blocks function anyway.

Thank you.
I did some exports in various block sizes, and it works great for both jpg and geotif
