I'm a photoshop expert myself and I've been on a mission to salvage images from a photoshoot I did that renders poorly.

As a shitty photographer I placed strobes all around the model I hired for maximum image quality, but I orbited around between the strobes and the model, which casted my shadow on her.

I've been able to do a few things that helped my situation, things like changing "shadows, highlights, and clarity" in the initial RAW options panel.

But I still cant get the results I need, some parts of the model render fabulously, while she still has huge patches of holes in her body.

I've been experimenting with different processes, specifically high-frequency separation, to eliminate shadows from the images while keeping high-frequency details intact. I've been getting mixed results, and I'm curious if anyone has found a solid enhancement workflow.

Theoretically it should be possible to identify and separate qualities of the subject that remain constant between photographs independant of lighting. Though that process may already efficiently built into photoscan.

Hi,
have you tried masking the areas, where your shadow is? I had a case of an aerial flight, where my shoes were visible in the images, so that lots of tie-points of my shoes were generated, which lead to an fairly incorrect calculation of the camera-positions. After masking my shoes, the model was a lot more accurate.

You mentioned, that you casted a shadow on "her". Do you mean a female model? If so, that might be a problem, since the model probably cannot stand still enough while you shoot the images. And if her position changes, a good reconstruction will be impossible, no matter how much post-processing is done.

Show some images, this might help finding the cause.
Cheers!

Thanks, that seems to be the most likely case, since it does some parts of her magnificiently, leave complete holes in other parts, and sometimes duplicates some body parts.
