RAM crash on EC2

Hello,

I'm having an issue on which Photoscan aborts the process due to the lack of free RAM on my Linux EC2 instance. How can I prevent that? I'm currently having an Instance with over 60 GB Ram. But many photos and I used the ultra settings...

Hello Silvan,

You can find approximate memory consumption peaks depending on the processing parameters and the dataset size in the following document:

Mesh generation based on ultra quality dense cloud is very resource demanding operation and if you are using Arbitrary option for mesh reconstruction the required amount of RAM can be easily over 60 GB.

Thanks for the kind reply.
I already knew that table. When using photoscan on my Mac with only 8 GB RAM, the program never aborts due to RAM limitation even though there is no empty RAM left. When using it on Linux (on EC2) it does abort. Why is that and is there a possible workaround besides just upscaling the Instance to ridiculous 640 GB of RAM?
