Dual GPU selection in OpenCL
« on: November 23, 2015, 08:28:04 AM »
Hi, I'm using i7 haswell and GTX760M. I have 2 option in OpenCL, one is the GTX760 and the other one is HD 4000.

Do I need to tick both and set the CPU core to 6/8? What different does it make? What's the best config in my situation?

Thank you.

Hello primon,

I recommend to use only GTX card, as integrated graphics is not so effective in terms of PhotoScan performance and also may be unstable under high load.

Hi, so I'll just select the GTX card and 7/8 cpu cores or 6/8 cpu cores? I got confused of the -1 core whether it meant the physical core or the virtual core.

Thank you.

Hello primon,

We usually suggest to move CPU core slider by one position for each GPU used (it means one thread), but you can disable two cores (meaning one physical core for system with hyperthreading) as well. Actually, the difference between these two cases will not be notable.
