Incremently adding photos
« on: March 19, 2011, 05:33:30 PM »
Hello, I have just purchased your PhotoScan Standard Edition, and am experimenting...

Is it possible now, or in future releases, to incremently add photos to chunks, witout running through the whole workflow again for that chunk?

Unless I am mistaken, it does not seem like it is possible.

For example, if I have generated a textured model, but there are gaps, I take more photos to fill those gaps. I would like to be able to add those new photos without matching points between photos that have already been done.

Ideally, most if not all of the workflow (matching points, building structure, calculating mesh, adding texture etc), would support incremental addition of photos.

Regards.

...and in a similiar vein, I am also wondering about incrementally adding new chunks, without re-aligning existing already-aligned chunks.

I think it is possible to implement such solution in one of the next releases. It seems that this method will improve performance at the step "Align photos", but it is not evident if it is possible to improve other steps.
