OpenCL has vanished
« on: December 16, 2015, 12:06:38 PM »
Hi guys, was hoping someone might have a quick fix for this problem. Basically I went to process a scan yesterday, but my Nvidia 980 is no longer showing up. It has been working fine. No drivers were updated, it just seems a bit random. Any ideas?

Hello Bertyfredo,

Are you working locally on the computer or via remote desktop connection?

I have been using a remote connection, but I read that may cause a problem, so I even tried without.  I have local access to this machine.

Hello Bertyfredo,

Windows Remote Desktop doesn't allow to use the OpenCL devices of the remote machine when you open new application instance. So you can either work locally or consider using another remote connection option (like TeamViewer).

It happens remotely(i was using google remote desktop), but it also happens locally. I have started the pc and run Agisoft all locally. No opencl devices. They were there just a few days ago when I was doing some work for a client.

Hello Bertyfredo,

Then are you sure that there were no drivers changes?

You can also try using GPU Caps utility to see whether it detects the OpenCL on your GPU.

Computers uses NVidia 359.06. GPU gaps reports 1 OpenCL device.

Hello Bertyfredo,

Can you please send the screenshot of the OpenCL page of GPU Caps and also check if there are any error messages in PhotoScan Console pane when OpenCL tab of the Preferences window is opened.

I had the same issue after a major update of Windows 10 pro on my 980TI, I solved it with an upgrade to 359.06 and an upgrade to the latest Agisoft version. When both were on par my Open CL worked like a charm.  My OS build is version 1511 and build is 10586.36. Verry sloppy work of the Redmond tribe I must add.
