Adding navd88 geoid as vertical translation
« on: December 21, 2015, 10:32:21 PM »
good day.

I have downloaded and added the tiff file from your site to the programs folder. After i process a project and select a coordinate system. If i choose NAD83 + NAVD88 i get an error stating "unsupported vertical datum". The final product export i am looking for is to have all elevations relative to NAVD88. Any help would be appriciated.

Thanks
John

Hello John,

Can you please send the project with the aligned images and input coordinates to support@agisoft.com and will see what is wrong with the combined coordinate system use.

One of the most possible reasons - the coordinates of the reference points are outside the geoid area of application.

Ok so based on your comment I'm going to assume I have to have reference coordinates for the project. I was under the assumption the software would convert the native wgs84 positions and altitude from the drone posotion. So in order for this to work I must have nad83 - navd88 ground control reference to the project for that export option to work. If I was using reference points there would be no need to even have that as an option I wouldn't think. Technically the actual reference should work as a local grid therefor not requiring a specific datum export format.
Thanks

Hello John,

So you were trying to use Convert option, or just switch the coordinate system in the Reference pane settings while the coordiante data in WGS84 was input?

my end goal or how i think the translation in the software should work would be. Once the photos are imported assuming the positioning is based on WGS84 which im sure it is. After all processing is done any object i would think should be able to be exported by any option chosen wether or not ground control or reference points have been placed.
