import DEM geotiff
« on: February 25, 2016, 12:43:49 PM »
Hi,

i'm having problems when importing a geotiff DEM into Agisoft. It seems to be related to the tiling of the file - see attachment. My original fil is in Erdas *img-format and I have tried exporting it from erdas, ArcGIS and Geomatica using various export options. When I open the file in any of those programs it looks fine. However, when I open it in Agisoft it doesn't.

Any idea what is wrong? I would prefer to be able to get around this with the software I have available ...

Any suggestions are highly appreciated!

Hello Gidske,

Could you please send the file you are trying to support@agisoft.com and also specify the coordinate system used?

Hello Gidske,

The problem with the actual file is caused by the different representation of Z values than is expected by PhotoScan. In your example it is represented by integer two byte values, while PhotoScan expects floating point value.
In the next version both options will be possible, but for the version 1.2.3 you need to save GeoTIFF using floating point format.

Also I've noticed that there are some extreme negative values in the file, however, in TIFF header these values are not specified as no-data value or interval.
