A matter of scaling: Can anyone help?
« on: March 14, 2016, 10:24:21 PM »
Hi all,

I recently used photoscan to create a set of models of some inscriptions at a local Church. Stupidly, when I took the photos i didn't use a scale of any kind and while I the models have come out really well, I have no way of measuring them. This is kind of important as i was hoping to do some detailed analysis on the inscriptions by importing them into other softwares.

Does anyone know how I would go about importing a scale?, I thought maybe just taking some extra photos using a scale and importing them into my already made models would sort this out but I am unsure how to go about it, or whether it is possible at all.

Anybody got any suggestions?

If you can go to the location again then I would recommend to measure the inscription and use these measurement to scale your ready processed project. Measure some long distances in different directions and use these as scale bars.
You can also do it with new photos with rulers/ scale bars in it, but why?
