Depth output based on orto viewport projection

Current 8 bit depth export for each picture  gives me absolutely nothing .    Would like to have an option to produce a combined depth map preferably  32 bit one  from the top view  for example.    For flat subjects  , ground surfaces.

If it could be  possible without mesh generation  would save some time too
