32 bits images support
« on: June 21, 2012, 12:57:11 PM »
This would be tremendously cool if I was able to load exr or hdr images in Psan.. at least for the texturing part of it...

thanks

im using the http://www.dxo.com/intl/photo and create a "HDR" photo with very nice outputs
Try in your data, but yes it still not the 32bit for rendering.......

well off course the awesome thing would be to input 32 bits images (exr or hdr) and so Pscan would have more precision to work with.. +  the final texture would be 32 bits too... I can see some great applications..  8)

32Bit is now integrated but from my previous tests I have seen little very difference (if any) processing 32Bit images.

ok, thanks Lee for the answer.. I am mostly interested in the texture it produces..

You get not higher resolution - precision on model, only on texture quality.........

well one would think if Agisoft supports 32 bits, it's for a reason... I wonder if Pscan could use the entire range, so in overbright areas or very dark areas, it might be useful.. maybe it needs some optimizations ... let's see..

Anyway, having a 32 bits texture output is going to be really cool..  8)

Hello FoodMan,

To get benefit from 32-bit images at geometry reconstruction step very low noise level is required. So in the upcoming update even 32-bit images would be used in the common way at Build Geometry step, but 32-bit texture output will be supported.

Hey Alexey..

Thanks for the answer.. so you're saying if one wants to have an improvement using 32bits images, no noise or very low noise images.. not a problem I think..

And off course a 32 bits texture is awesome !

(btw, what is the format...? hdr, exr, tiff32..?)

This is going to be perfect..  8)
