NOOB HELP NEEDED: Mesh Reimport Issue
« on: June 09, 2016, 10:05:41 AM »
Hi there,

I'm just getting started with PhotoScan, and have a built a couple meshes that I used an export/re-import workflow on (with the re-imported mesh having proper UV's) with no issues.  On my most recent mesh, however, when I re-imported the high resolution mesh it is completely out of alignment with the Photoscan mesh.

Is there any way for me to recover this?  I've got 4-5 hours into remeshing and layout UV's, I'd had to toss this one in the bin.

Thanks!!!

PS -- I very deliberately did NOT move the mesh at all in Maya, ZBrush, or UVLayout... so it would seem the origin coorindates in Photoscan shifted when I saved/re-loaded the file.  :-(

Hello pch90265,

Have you tried to open the model that you have modified and original model from PhotoScan in the external application that you are using at the same time? Do they align?

Hi Alexey,

Yes, the initial alignment is correct.  Things get messed up with the UV'ed model.  I am guessing something about the topology of the model made UVLayout freak out.  :-(

I've tried reapplying clean UVs to the model twice, and get the same result.  It must be something about the topology...  oh well, starting over again on this one.

Thanks!
