No overlapping images error
« on: July 19, 2016, 10:23:27 PM »
Hello all,

I am trying to correct an Ortho I built from a DEM which inturn was generated from a Dense Cloud of high quality.

I draw a polygon around an area to correct and when I right click and select Assign Images, I get

No overlappings images found errror message.

See attached Screen Copy...

Any ideas why is this occuring?

Latest version of PS 1.2.5 2735 used....

Hi all,

I have a similar issue here.
Has anyone found a solution?

Thanks!

Usually this error appears when the orthomosaic has been generated in a different coordinate extents (for example, if you generated the orthomosaic first and then used different referencing information for the model).

Hi Alexey,

For my case, I am working on a merged chunk.
Merged chunk consists of 2 chunks with GCPs of the same coordinate system (They are sharing 2 similar GCPs)
Is 'Assign Images' not applicable for merged chunk?

Thank you!

Hello two,

Chunk merging operation doesn't combine the orthorectified images.

I also have this error, I have another job where the assign image works well, and have processed the next job the same way

dense cloud, classify points, mesh excluding all but ground, create dem and ortho letting the system calculate the extents

Hello sjn,

Is it possible that you have used different georeferencing information or have switched to another coordinate system after generating the orthomosaic?

I would  have exported the the ortho to a different co-ord system, but didn't change during the processing stages

I also repeated the process from build dense point after changing the co-ord system to the output system I required, same result

Hello sjn,

In the Export Orthomosaic dialog there's a possiblity to change the coordinate system. So no need to rebuild everything if you require another coordinate system for export.

If you have switched the coordinate system before building the dense cloud, you need to remove orthomosaic, DEM and shapes, as they have their own coordinate system and are not converted.

Maybe my problem is confusion with ground control
My photos are in WGS84, first I align the photos with this co-ord system, so I can use guided marker location
Then import a text file with ground control which is GDA94, identify markers and optimise cameras

when should I select the correct co-ord system,
should I convert to GDA94 first thing after photo import, before aligning photos

EDIT, yes works now, thanks
it also improved the accuracy/error of the markers from 0.25 to 0.07m
