X,Y Photo Coordinates
« on: July 05, 2012, 04:52:07 PM »
Hello,

In our tests of version 0.8.5, we have a doubt about the coordinates of photos.
The x, y and z are referee to the center, or is referee to the left, high pixel of photo, like a world file?

I said this, because comparing the results of original GPS data and photoscan calculated point after create marks with real control points, he have always an error that seems to correspond a half of width in X and half of height in Y.

Hello Bentus,

Coordinates of cameras correspond to the coordinate of the image sensor in the moment the picture was taken. The difference between original and estimated positions could be checked in the Errors tab of the Ground Control pane.

Maybe you are comparing some other points? Could you please provide screenshot so we could understand correctly the described situation?

Hello Bentus,

The difference between source and estimated camera position values may occur if the accuracy of the GPS device was not good, or the model was georeferenced using precise GCPs.

From the first screen shot it is not clear if the images were oriented using source or estimated camera positions.

Maybe you can provide us the project file with imageset so we could check if there are any problems in detail.

Hello

Yellow points -> original GPS shoot points
Green points -> estimated photoscan points

image 1, 2 are referenced with high precision ground control points
image 3 is not referenced, no marks used.

We can prepare a project to test, how we can send to you?
