Batch processing stalling
« on: August 07, 2016, 03:16:23 AM »
Since the latest update I have noticed that when I batch process and leave it overnight, the next day It seems that the processing has stalled. It gets stuck while trying to create meshes. It will complete 20% of one mesh and then just stays at 20% for the next 15-20 hours.

It works if I create mesh one at a time, but when I put it in a batch it just doesn't want to work. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Hello geophotologist,

Is it possible that you are using Arbitrary mesh reconstruction option based on very dense point cloud, whereas in the older version you've used Height Field option?

Hi Alexey,

I have always used Arbitrary mesh reconstruction and it has worked fine in the past. I never use height field as I capture objects in close range. It has only been happening since the last update.

Hello geophotologist,

Then could you please specify the following information about the project:
- number and resolution of input images,
- parameters used for the dense cloud and mesh generation,
- number of points in the dense cloud,
- provide the processing log related to the stalled mesh generation (you can redirect the Console pane output to file using the corresponding option in the Preferences window),
- memory consumption peak related to the stalled operation and hardware specifications (CPU, GPU, RAM, OS).

Hi Alexey,

I have been trying to replicate the issue but when it stalls I cannot stop the processing. The only way I can do this is by force quitting the application.

So far one of the models it got stuck on in batch process was:

473 images
8mp image = 3mb
dense cloud = 93,503 points.

Hello geophotologist,

Are you sure that dense cloud contains 93 503 points? Looks more like the sparse cloud. Which quality has been used to build the dense cloud?
